Web17 aug. 2010 · Edit: you may want to check that the mounting bolts for the flex plate to the crank shaft are tight also. Disconnect the torque converter, push it back, start it and see if the noise is still there. There should be no run out in the flex plate. I just installed my tranny (SBF/C-4, and 7" A-1 converter) and everything is seated correctly but, as I turn the crank to sync the flex-plate holes with the torque converter holes, so that I can insert and bolt the together, both are turning at the same time.
